Masahiro Imafuji

Imafuji Translations has been in business since 2006. Masahiro is a native Japanese speaker, fluent in English, and a translator certified by the Japan Translation Federation. He brings an MBA and experience teaching Japanese at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis to work that crosses both language and culture.

His translation and interpretation experience spans manufacturing and engineering, business communications, and nonprofit publications. He has also worked inside Indiana manufacturing companies in Japanese–English interpretation, translation, sales, and purchasing. For example, he interpreted conversations between Japanese engineers and local employees at an Indiana automotive manufacturer.

A testimonial from the Economic Development Corporation of Wayne County describes another example of his approach: before translating “Economic Development Corporation” for Japanese hosts, he asked what the client meant by the term. The resulting wording helped the hosts understand the organization’s role.
